Irish dance lessons offered

STANHOPE — An Clár School of Irish Dance held an open house on Friday, Jan. 6, to announce that it is offering Irish dance lessons in two area locations. Classes are held on Fridays at NJ Fitness and Dance, Pro Plaza, 16D Route 206, Stanhope, and on Thursdays at the Community Presbyterian Church, at 220 Main St., in Chester, NJ. Owner and teacher Lexa Hickey danced competitively for 21 years, gaining seven regional titles as well as numerous top 10 and top five national and international placements. Hickey toured with Riverdance and performed in the 15th Anniversary show at Radio City Music Hall. Upon retiring from competition, Hickey passed her Irish Dancing Teachers Examination with honors and is a registered teacher with Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha (Irish Dancing Commission) in Ireland and the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America.
