NEWTON — The preschool class at Rev. Brown School received first-hand information about what their pharmacist does to help them get well from Patty Deckert, Head Pharmacist at Newton ShopRite. Deckert donated her time to discuss safe and unsafe drugs as well as the ways pharmacists try to help their customers in the community. She brought in the flavors used to sweeten medicines for children and the students enjoyed smelling the aromas and choosing their favorite flavor. She also brought in some tools that are used to fill prescriptions. "Rev. Brown Preschool is fortunate to have volunteers who donate their time to educate the children about neighborhood helpers and good health and safety practices," said Luci Saltos, Director of the Rev. Brown School.
