NEWTON — Vanessa Valentine and Samantha Waldron, who are members of the Interact Club at Kittatinny Regional High School, participated in an annual roadside clean up of Junction Road to help commemorate Earth Day, which was Friday, April 22. Together, they picked up eight bags of trash. Earth Day is entering the 46th year of its movement to continue to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action. Its theme for 2016 is “Trees for the Earth.”
The members of Interact are learning how to help their community. In addition to cleaning the roadside, Kittatinny students will be helping with the statewide Ocean Beach Clean Up. According to Mrs. Michele Kaminskyj, Interact Club Advisor, “Our students appreciate the value of community service by giving their time to help others. They are also learning how to help the environment too.”
