— Andover Township Day was held on Sunday, Sept.21 at Hillside Park and thanks to good weather and heartfelt participation, a successful event was had.

Entertainment planned for both children and adults included inflatable rides, games, a dunk booth and live bands. Different vendors and local food establishments sold items at affordable prices.

Co-chairs Jim Holmes and Gigi Regolizio organized this year’s celebration, the first one since 2010. At the Sept.22 Andover Township council meeting, special mention was made commending Holmes and Regolizio on a great day.

“Thanks to the fire department, the DPW and the police for all helping out with the set-up,” said Holmes. “ All the town participated and different organizations came together.”

Both committee members and residents agreed that the common goal to provide an inexpensive day for the family was reached.

“It was phenomenal-everybody had a blast,” said Tom Walsh, Andover Township committee member.

Due to the positive feedback and good attendance, the town has decided to make it an annual event.

“We are already planning next year’s for Sept.12. We want to make it bigger and have subcommittees and really get a head start,” said Regolizio.
