NEWTON — The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council is again offering alternative activities for children to get involved in during their summer break from the classrooms. For two weeks this summer, July 9 through 13 and July 16 through 20, the council will be hosting Summer Art Camp for Kids, an exploration of art mediums for children entering fourth through eighth grades. Camp is from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with a different art form taught each day by a professional artist contracted to teach at the camp. Once the schedule is finalized, a complete list of the instructors and their classes will be available on the council’s website, www.scahc.org. The final day of camp is a student art show and celebration. Parents are invited to join the festivities and see what art campers can accomplish when fun, learning and creativity join forces. Summer Art Camp for Kids will be held at the council’s office, 133 Spring Street in Newton. Enrollment is $100 for one week and $175 for two weeks. Interested persons can call the council at 973-383-0027, visit www.scahc.org, or visit the office. Registration can also be completed by visiting www.2012summercamp.eventbrite.com.
