Storm damage continues to impede travel to local nursery

One side of Whitehall Rd. closed at Rt. 517 until further notice Green — Hurricanes Irene and Lee may be gone, but the damage they caused still continues to affect area residents and businesses. Whitehall Rd. in Green is still under several feet of water. The pond that is adjacent to the road has flooded the road and is approximately two feet deep at the center. Gardens of the World Nursery, the main entrance of which has been blocked by the floodwater, may still be accessed from the other end of Whitehall Rd. off of County Rt. 603/Airport Road. The nursery is open and accessible through the detour route. To reach the nursery, take Rt. 517S/Decker Pond Road past the barrier at Whitehall Rd. Proceed approximately two miles and make a right onto County Route 603S/Airport Rd. Proceed approximately two miles and make a right onto Whitehall Road, go around the barrier, and the nursery will be on the left at 58 Whitehall Rd.
