NEWTON — Florence M. Burd School first grade classes held their annual Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, Nov. 23. The feast is a culmination of their integrated health and social studies lessons. Students learned about the first Thanksgiving, the Pilgrims and Native Americans' way of life, and made a Pilgrim or Native American costume. They also learned about nutrition and made popcorn, bread and butter to feast upon along with cranberries and chicken legs.
