On Wednesday, March 14, a fire occurred in a second floor science classroom/lab at the Sussex County Technical School. Thanks to the very quick and thorough response of volunteer fire departments, police and other emergency personnel from Sparta, Lafayette and Hardyston, the Sparta and Sussex County Fire Marshall's office and the State Police, the fire was quickly extinguished. The above responders prevented further property damage. Thankfully, no one was injured which is the main concern; property for the most part may be replaced and lost school days will be made up. The Board of Education, Administration and SCTS community would like to extend a very special thanks to all of the above personnel for their efforts on March 14. We are grateful for the important work that you do for your communities in an effort to keep everyone safe. Thank you emergency responders for a job well done. The SCTS BOE and administration
