19th Annual Skylands Juried Art Show and Sale

    Newton - The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council will be hosting its 19th Annual Skylands Juried Art Show and Sale from June 23 through July 29. Showcasing the best art in NJ, NY, and PA, artists as far away as California and Wyoming vie for a chance to win the 1st place cash award of $1,000. Three accomplished artists juried the competition, selecting from more than 100 applicants. Valeri Larko is a painter and director of the Tomasulo Gallery at Union City College. James Gwynne is a renowned painter, professor, and co-directs Contemporary Art at the Mill in Lafayette. and Edwin Havas is a professor of Art Emeritus at Seton Hall University and an award- winning watercolorist. An opening champagne reception will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on June 23 with awards presented at 8 p.m. Moran Street will be closed to all traffic on the night of the reception and several tents will be setup in front of the gallery. The reception is open to the public at a cost of $20 per person, payable at the door. All proceeds help the council foster the arts in Sussex County.
