The Dance China New York Dance Company performed to a sell-out crowd in the Performing Arts Center of Sussex County Community College Thursday morning. In addition to performing dances from different areas of the country, the ensemble taught the audience how to greet one another in Chinese and invited audience members up onto the stage to participate in two dance lessons. Students from Immaculate Conception Regional School in Franklin had a particular interest in the program. I have three exchange students from China, said Sussex resident Christine Rotondo, social studies teacher. I thought I could give them a little taste of home and my other students could experience some of the culture. Currently in the eighth grade, the exchange students will be here until they finish high school. They go home in the summers. The hour long program was presented by the Student Activities Office.
