A festival of trees

Sparta — The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta will celebrate beginning of the holiday season with its Festival of Trees auction on Friday, Nov. 17, and Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Lake Mohawk Golf Club, located at 471 West Shore Trail in Sparta. The event begins with a party on Friday night from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday is free to the public after 11 a.m. and will include visits with Santa, adult and children’s entertainment, a bake sale, and continued bidding on the decorated trees. The event concludes with final bidding of the silent auction of trees at 4:30 on Saturday afternoon, with winning bids being announced at 5. Mary Jo Mathias will play the piano during the cocktail hour, followed by dancing to Rikki Starr DJ Entertainment. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are $35 and will be sold in advance. They can be purchased up until Nov. 14 by contacting any women’s club member or by calling 973-300-7309. Tickets will also be available at the Sparta Book Store.
