All girl band covers decades of female-genre hits

SPARTA — The Hit Girls are America’s only all female tribute band paying homage to hits by the female genre. From the 1960s to today. From Janis Joplin to Carrie Underwood, Madonna to GaGa and Tina Turner to Pink, The Hit Girls cover them all. The hit girls feature former members of some of the areas top-bands, like Big Bang Baby, The Sheatles, Good Girls Don’t and Lava Recording Artist Antigone Rising. The Hit Girls will be making their only area appearance on Friday, April 27 at The Mohawk House in Sparta. The quintet is a featured band at The Hops Stage at the Delaware Park casino in New Castle, De and also performs up and down the East Coast. Founding member/keyboardist Kerri Parrott-Freda of Frankford and Lead vocalist Bassist Cathy Beck of Hopatcong are residents of Sussex County and have performed on MTV, VHI and have opened for major recording artists like The Spice Girls, Fuel, Korn and movie actor Keenu Reeves. Drummer Dena Tauriello formerly of Wantage, and who now resides in Morristown, has been featured in Modern Drummer and has opened for such mega-artists like The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers, The Bangles, Cheap Trick and more. The Hit Girls capture the sound and the essence of the classic hits and today’s blockbusters and will have crowds dancing from the first note. Their energetic performance, talent and humor entertains all ages.
