Anti-terrorism meets belly dancing at Spring Expo
Sparta - Topics ranging from anti-terrorism to belly dancing will be on the agenda at the New Spring Expo to be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 24, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at Sussex County Technical School on Route 94 in Sparta. The Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and Sussex County Community College have joined forces with Sussex Tech to sponsor the event. Businesses and educators will come together to offer local products, services and educational seminars at the two-day consumer trade show. Admission and parking are free.Sussex Tech culinary students will prepare and serve food both days, with proceeds benefiting student activities. Prime-rib dinner will be available on Friday night and brunch/lunch on Saturday. The bakery will be open and selling freshly baked breads, muffins, cakes and more, for in-house dining or take out. Seminars are free, open to the public and will begin Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is not required. The schedule is as follows. 10 a.m. - 11 a. m. Whitewater Flies - Fly Tying 10 a.m - 11 a.m. Education & Career Forum: Planning for High School & Beyond 11 a.m. - noon Fly Fishing Noon - 1 p.m. Community Anti -Terrorism - What Everyone Should Know About Protecting Your Community From Terrorism. 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. The Importance of Motorcycle Safety/Risk Management 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Garden of Life Yoga 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Belly Dancing Visitors to the expo will have an opportunity to purchase chances to win a number of prizes valued at $100 or more.
