Antique dealers from around the state are planning for the fair

Harmony - The third annual Warren County Antiques Fair will be Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Warren County Farmer’s Fairgrounds on Route 519 three miles north of Phillipsburg. Last year’s show brought 48 dealers from throughout New Jersey as well as Pennsylvania and New York to the scenic fairgrounds. Offerings included period antiques and country collectibles ranging from vintage toys to tools, fine jewelry to furniture, and everything in between. The event also featured a display of antique cars, live music and food available throughout the day, all of which are back for this year’s show. “We’re expecting to double the number of dealers this year,” said Melva Sterlacci, one of the show’s organizers and proprietor of an antique store in Hope, called The Nest. Over the past two years, the Warren County Antiques Fair has gained a reputation as “the dealer-friendly show” for its generous booth sizes, both indoors and out; the convenient access for setting up before the show and packing up afterward; and other extras that made the quality antiques dealers who participated feel welcome. Dealers - and customers - also have remarked on the convenient and picturesque fairgrounds location, ample free parking, and great turnout. “It’s one of the nicest shows we do,” said Sally Szelag, an antiques dealer from Milford, who specializes in primitives, furniture and quilts. Szelag noted the show takes place in a “beautiful fall country setting,” adding, “The food is great, too.” Fred Aibel of Sugar Princess antiques in Montville, also highlighted the show’s location in the beautiful Warren County countryside. “Make it a family day - start your children on collections of their own,” said Aibel, who specializes in American art pottery, Americana , primitives and vintage toys. Admission is $6 per person. To learn more or to become a dealer, see www.warrencountyantiqueshow.com, email info@warrencountyantiqueshow.com or call 908-459-4122 for information.
