Art at the Mill presents Metamorphosis

Lafayette - Art at the Mill is presenting an exhibit entitled “Metamorphosis; A New Beginning” running now through Nov. 12. The exhibit was organized by gallery director C.J. Cona came to Lafayette from the Philadelphia area’s Main Line community and serves on the Board of Directors of the Main Line Art Center. Cona has recently assumed responsibility for developing the potential of Art at the Mill and is giving the gallery her primary focus. She says she is delighted with the quality and diversity of artists that she has discovered throughout the Sussex County area. New York and other metropolitan area artists have moved to the area and are thriving in its atmosphere. “Metamorphosis; A New Beginning” features the work of 28 artists, many of whom have shown their work both nationally and on the international circuit in shows and in competitions. Many of the artists selected for this show are well established and some are gifted emerging artists. “People no longer need to go to the cities for fine art,” Cona said. “It is here, in New Jersey, at a fraction the cost normally associated with fine art.” A “Meet the Artists” reception is planned for from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27, with refreshments served. The artists expected to attend include: William Beam, Wanda Blake, Sam Ciresi, C.J. Cona, Barbara Donatucci, Carolyn Dubiel, Chris Dreitlen, Hoppi Emberson, Linda Finkelstein, Renie Garlick, James Gwynne, Alice Harrison, Richard Kapral, James Kearns, Tony Lordi, John Molnar, Rama, John Reinking, Robert Ricciotti, Alvin Rosser, Robert Sabo, Jennie Traill Schaeffer, Doris Schwint, Keith Smith, Anthony Stantella, Linda Vonderschmidt-LaStella, Walt Swales, and Agatha Wyman. Art at the Mill focuses on modern trends in the visual arts and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and by appointment. The gallery is located in the Lafayette Mill Antique Center in Lafayette, just off Route 15 at Morris Farm Road, on the second floor above the café.
