Art teachers' work showcased at Peter's Valley

Vernon Peters Valley recently celebrated the role that art teachers play in shaping the art world, including the work of six instructors from Vernon Township High School. Included among the exhibitors were Lisa Hirkaler, James Labar, Doug Miller, Terry Sabia, Patricia Soriano-Bunger and Erik Villanueva. In cooperation with the Teen Arts office at Sussex County Community College, Peters Valley was able to identify and invite Sussex County middle and high school art teachers to exhibit their original artwork. These art educators show a range of artwork that includes oil paintings, digital imaging, airbrushing, paper collage, weaving and photography, to named a few. All of the educators included in this exhibition help our local youth, by encouraging them to participate in the Teen Arts program. Peters Valley encourages the community to come out and show their support for teachers who reach out to reinforce arts in our community. Peters Valley Craft Center is a non-profit educational center for the exploration, promotion and practice of the craft arts, located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
