Arts Council holds opening reception

Newton n Awards for the juried Skylands Arts Show and Sale will be distributed at the opening reception at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21. The reception will be from noon to 3 p.m. at the gallery at Sussex County Community College and will feature music by guitarist Glenn Zervas, appetizers, champagne and soft drinks. Awards totaling $3,000 will go to artists in various categories. Skylands is Sussex County’s premiere art exhibit with submissions by artists from Sussex County, Morris County, New York and Pennsylvania. The works were juried by Erica Jaeger-Smith, Associate Curator of Exhibitions at James A. Michener Art Museum; Jimmy Clark, Executive Director of Peters Valley Craft Center; and Al Zerries, painter, portrait artist and author. Admission is $15 for the reception. The exhibit will show from April 22 through April 25 and is free to the public during this time.
