BYRAM-The "Arts in the Park," a series of summer concerts offered by the Byram Twp. Parks and Recreation Department, combines the outdoors and the arts for a free family outing. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and bug spray for these concerts on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. at Neill Gylling Park on Mansfield Dr. On Sunday, July 17, "Gilbert and Sullivan A La Carte" will be presented by Cameo Productions. This lively evening of music, clever rhyme, silliness and satire is fully costumed and performed by four professional singers and actors. On Sunday, July 24, the "Mark Rust Family Music Concert" will feature song, dance, humor, and audience participation for old and young alike. On Sunday, July 31, Gerald Fierst, an award-winning storyteller, will weave his magic with tales from around the world to whet one's imagination and sense of wonder. On Sunday, Aug. 21, the "Kootz Rock 'n Roll Band," Glenn Taylor's New Jersey-based band, takes the stage, rocking to the classic hits of the '60s and '70s. In addition, residents can enjoy the programs from their own bistro table, with a bottle of sparkling cider and a small cheese & cracker plate, for a donation of $30. All proceeds support the free Byram "Arts in the Park" Summer Series. Corporate, business and family support helps this program continue to grow. For further information, to reserve a table or to make donations, call the Byram Twp. Parks and Recreation Department at 973-347-2500 ext. 161.
