Franklin — Pam Small and Michele Kotarski, founders of Are You a B-Girl networking club, recently announced their newest club location in Franklin, B-Girls, formed in April 2006, provides women a forum for making connections with other women business owners, non-profit organizations and the local community. The philosophy at B-Girls is a bit different from the usual networking group. While the focus is to motivate, support and connect women professionally, there is an emphasis on encouraging, educating and empowering women personally. There are no restrictions regarding the number of people per profession. Referrals are encouraged among members but not required at a certain level per month. Each meeting offers a presentation, member introductions and networking. Meetings emphasize building strategic relationships that are mutually beneficial. Club hosts help people make the connections they need. The Franklin club will be facilitated by Sandy Warner, vice president of Commerce Bank’s Franklin Route 23 Store, and Donna Price, president of Compass Rose Consulting, LLC. The meetings will be hosted by Commerce Bank at 382 Route 23 in Franklin. The first meeting is 6:30 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 14. It will meet monthly on the second Wednesday of each month. B-Girls also just launched a Parsippany Club and a Mountainside, Edgewater and Roseland Club, with the original club continuing in Ledgewood. Additional locations are planned and will be formed over the next several months. In addition, to the monthly meetings in each location, there are also B’s and Company meetings each month in Ledgewood at Bellisimo’s. B’s and Company meetings encourage men in business to network and connect with B-Girl’s members.
