SPARTA-Magical potions are realized in the Harry Potter books, with the inclusion of creepy, crawly insects. But before the Imp and the Jobberknoll can eat the Billywigs and Glumbumbles, Sparta Books will be giving them away (faux, of course), at a Harry Potter Party at midnight on Friday, July 15. Harry's famous wand and candy toads, which in the books hop around in the reader's stomach, black-rimmed glasses for the wannabe Harrys, plus audios, videos and a book bag will be distributed during the event. According to Sherry Rossi, store manager, "We're gearing up for a really fun time that evening. There will be lots of events and activities." Serious Harry Potter fans may secure a copy of "Half Blood Prince", J. K. Rowling's sixth book in the Harry Potter series of best-selling mystery novels, by pre-purchasing (in full) their copy now through July 14 at 8 p.m., and receive a $10 gift certificate from Sparta Books (for future purchases only), and a $5 gift certificate from Tweed. Sparta Books is located at 41 Theatre Center, Rte. 181, Sparta, and is open Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
