Church to hold summer carnival in Highland Lakes
Vernon From July 25 through 28, Our Lady of Fatima Church will hold its Summer Carnival. It will take place at 184 Breakneck Road, Highland Lakes. Each evening, 6 to 11 p.m., there will be games, rides food and a 50/50 raffle. The games include Krazy Kans, a Water Gun and Wheels of Chance. Thursday is bracelet night, that is, ride all night for one price ($17). Delicious sausage and pepper sandwiches, zeppole, hamburgers, hot dogs and Gram’s famous crum cake are some of the home cooked foods. Each night at 10 p.m., a 50/50 cash raffle will be held. In addition, a Grand Raffle for supermarket gift cards will be drawn on Saturday at 10 p.m. Four prizes are: Shop Rite $300; Shop Rite $200; Weis Markets $200; Weis Markets $100. Tickets are one dollar each; 12 for $10. Winner need not be present. Features for children: Meet the Characters: Big Bird, Barney, Mr.Mc Gruff, on Friday, 5 to 6 p.m. and again on Saturday, 1 to 2 p.m. $10 includes a pony ride, a photo with a character, and a meal. Saturday afternoon rides and games, 2 to 4:30 p.m. $10 allows rides for the 2 1/2 hours.
