David Jacobs-Strain at Salt April 12

BYRAM — Slide guitar virtuoso and storyteller David Jacobs-Strain will perform at Salt Gastropub in Byram tonight, April 12, at 8 p.m. in what is being billed as a patron appreciation night. A bridge between today’s indie folk troubadours and the delta guitar slingers of the 1930s, Jacobs-Strain plays with precision and sings with emotional abandon. Is it delta blues? Gangsta grass? Geekabilly? Secular humanist gospel? Whatever you call it, it’s a sound big enough to land Jacobs-Strain at the Newport Folk Festival — as a teenager — and later at MerleFest, the Strawberry Music Festival, the Montreal International Jazz Fest, and on tour with artists as diverse as Lucinda Williams, Etta James, Bob Weir and Boz Scaggs. On April 12, Jacobs-Strain will bring his acoustic show to Salt. The show is free but reservations are recommended for this intimate performance. Preferential seating will be given to dinner guests. To make a reservation, call 973-347-7258. Salt Gastropub is located at 109 Rt. 206 in Byram.
