Dickens for dinner
Warwick WTBQ Radio and PEP productions will present a live performance of the Air Pirates Radio Theater’s staged reading of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” on Dec. 15, at the Tuscan Café in Warwick. It will be recorded live for broadcast on WTBQ Radio 1110 AM on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Air Pirates Radio Theater is a cross between live contemporary interactive theater and old time radio drama. The Pirates begin with old radio scripts that are updated adding new language and sound effects. Audiences will participate in the productions by supplying all the sound effects, crowd noise and any additional requirements of the production made available to them. The group produces the live staged reading as if it were a live radio broadcast (with some surprise modifications). Paul Ellis, producer, says he plans some interesting changes to this version of the old-time favorite. For reservations, call 845-569-2345. Visit www.paulellisproducer for updated information.
