Eleanor Roosevelt' to visit Sussex Community College March 30

Newton - The Living History Series at Sussex County Community College will present a performance on Thursday, March 30, by Rene Goodwin as Eleanor Roosevelt, the first lady who had a great impact on national politics during and after the presidency of her husband, Franklin D. Roosevelt. The presentation, titled, “Eleanor Roosevelt: A Woman of Note,” will be given in two parts in the Sussex Bank Theater at the college, located at One College Hill Rd. in Newton. Part I will begin at 6 p.m. and part II will start at 7:15 p.m. Researched and put into a dramatic format by Goodwin, Eleanor Roosevelt’s story both entertains and inspires audiences. Goodwin has spent many hours compiling details from journals, papers, letters and documents, and devised a program that is historically accurate as well as good theatre. Her first-person interpretation allows the audience to see and hear this remarkable woman who managed to make her mark in a political world reserved primarily for men. Cost of admission is $5.
