Favorite Things"

    sussex county-The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council is hosting a themed exhibit of fine art called "Favorite Things." The show is on the second floor of the Judicial Center at 43-47 High Street, Newton. Twenty-one original works of art can be seen from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Tuesday evenings from 5-7. Admission is free. Included in the exhibit are 3 floral in oil by Irene Bartz of Stroudsburg, Penn., three photographs by Matt Deterior of Stanhope, three photographs by Leslie L Phiefer of Lafayette, three oils by Larie Harden of Boonton, three still life pastels by Elizabeth Reilly Sutherland of Sparta, three gouache works by Johnston Williams of Vernon, and three watercolors by Elenore M. Zinn of Sparta. A closing reception to honor the artists will be open to the public free of charge. It will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 28. Light refreshments will be served. Styles and subjects are varied to appeal to many people. All works are for sale with a 25 percent commission going to benefit the arts council.
