Sussex County The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council will host "Pentimento," its 11th Exhibition of Fine Art by area art educators, featuring the paintings of Jill Wallace, an art teacher at Cedar Mountain Primary School in Vernon. The exhibition can be seen on the second floor of the Public Gallery in the judicial center at 43-47 High Street in Newton. Viewing hours are from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 5-7 p.m. on Tuesdays. Admission is free. A closing reception will be held in honor of the artists from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Light refreshments will be served. Wallace earned a bachelor's degree in art education from Glassboro State College, now Rowan University, and a master's degree in visual art from William Paterson University. She also studied with Patricia Redline in studio classes at Sussex County Community College. Her professional memberships include Art Educators of New Jersey, Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council, the Vernon Township Education Association, and the New Jersey Education Association. Wallace is exhibiting 14 paintings, two watercolors and 12 acrylics, in styles ranging from impressionistic to abstract. She is married, with three grown children and three grandchildren. Also exhibiting art are Joseph J. Losavio of Andover Regional School and Patricia Soriano of Vernon Township High School.
