Fiola speaks on selling art

    Sparta - Woodworker and designer Jim Fiola will speak at the Wednesday, June 13, meeting of Business of Art Sussex. The meeting is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hilltop Country Day School, 32 Lafayette Road. An artist for more than 30 years, Fiola has been accepted at more than 500 juried shows and won many awards. His work has been featured in two books and he teaches a course entitled “The Art of Selling Art and Fine Crafts” at Peter’s Valley Craft Center. He will sharte information about the course and his background followed by a question and answer period about selling art. Future BOAS meetings will cover legal and accounting questions, free promotion, web sites, surefire sales ideas, and resources for artists. The group hopes to develop the meetings’ themes based on the interests and needs of its members. BOAS wants everyone to feel at home, so invites attenddes to a favorite coffee mug for coffee, tea and educational discussion.
