Fishing derby for children

Augusta —The Sussex County Federation of Sportsman’s Clubs will host its annual Children’s Fishing Derby and breakfast/lunch on Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. until noon at the pond at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show ground. The rain date is Sunday, May 20. Children 15 and younger can enter the derby. Participants should provide their own fishing tackle. The Federation will provide worms. Food can be purchased from the Boy Scouts. Prizes will be awarded. No fishing license is required for children 15 years and younger. Participants are asked to bring a can of food for the NORWESCAP food pantry. Monetary donations would also be appreciated. The pond is located off of Plains Road in Augusta.
