Folk legend Gordon Lightfoot coming to Sussex Tech's McNeice Auditorium

Sparta - On Sunday, April 20 at 8 p.m., Gordon Lightfoot will take the stage at the McNeice Auditorium at the Sussex County Technical School. The singer/songwriter has many well known hits, including “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Sundown,” “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” “ Carefree Highway,” “Rainy Day People,” “The Way I Feel,” and “Early Morning Rain.” Lightfoot was born Nov. 17, 1938, in Orillia, Ontario, Canada and rose to prominence in the mid-’60s. His career has continued, with few interruptions, for more than 40 years. Through the course of his career, Lightfoot has seen more than 130 of his songs covered by such artists as Bob Dylan, Barbara Streisand, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Judy Collins.
