Generation Gap shows coming to Newton

    NEWTON —County residents age 17 and younger are invited to exhibit their art in the annual Kids' Art Exhibition and 60 and over in the Golden Art Exhibition. In combination, the two shows are known as the Generation Gap, sponsored by the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 5-7 p.m., Tuesdays, April 6 through June 7, on the third floor of the Judicial Center, in Newton. Admission is free. Deadline for entry is March 22. Forms can be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Council at 9 Moran St., Newton 07860. Entry fee is $2 per kids' art and $3 for seniors. All work must be framed and wired for hanging. All media, all subjects and all sizes are welcome, except for safety reasons, no sharp edges or stained glass. A free public reception will be held 5-7 p.m., June 7. Admission is also free.
