Greensky Bluegrass to perform at Fountain House
Fredon Greensky Bluegrass brings their acoustic roots music to the Fountain House on Saturday, March 3. The Michigan foursome won the prestigious band competition at last year’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival and will be returning this summer. The band blends traditional bluegrass harmonizing using one microphone with jamming instrumentation for a new twist on one of America’s oldest genres of music. Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth produced their most recent album, “Tuesday Letter.” Recently they have performed on stage with Railroad Earth, Larry Keel and Steppin’ In It. Bluegrass legend Larry Keel said of the band, “A true hoedown ... Kalamazoo style. These guys play all my favorite songs.” Greensky Bluegrass is Michael Arlen Bont on banjo, Dave Bruzza on guitar, Michael Devol on upright bass and Paul Hoffman on mandolin. Some surprise musical guests are expected to jam with the band. This Hobo Stage Production brings a growing line up of national artists to the North Jersey region. Paul Pallazzi of Mount Arlington founded the production company with the goal “to share the love of great music with all of our friends and to bring national touring acts to our community.” The Fountain House is located on 439 Route 94 in Fredon. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and music starts at 8:30 p.m. $15 at the door. For more information on this event and future Hobo Stage Productions, visit www.thehobostage.com.
