Home is where the art is
Lafayette Art at the Mill will present its latest show “Home Is Where the Art Is,” through May 19. This unique show at the art gallery features works to enhance both traditional and contemporary home decor. The opening reception for the show will be a special two-day event on Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25, from 2 to 5 p.m., with refreshments served. In addition to the chance to meet the artists, the public will also have the opportunity learn more about the fine art of interior design. One of the new exhibiting artists, who is also an interior designer, is Kárin Lowney-Seed of Sparta. She is an accomplished painter whose works are in many private collections throughout the country. In addition, other area interior designers have been invited to attend the opening and to share their knowledge and expertise. The event should prove to be quite interesting and informative. “Home Is Where the Art Is” features the work of dozens of local and regional artists, many of whom have shown their work both nationally and on the international circuit in shows and in competitions. Some of the artists selected for this show are well-established and some are gifted emerging artists. The artists whose work will be shown, include: Wanda Blake, C.J. Cona, Richie Culver, Karen Decher, Brenda Decker, Chris Dreitlein, Hoppi Emberson, Linda Finkelstein, Renie Garlick, James Gwynne, Alice Harrison, Richard Kapral, Myron Leski, Tony Lordi, Kárin Lowney-Seed, John Molnar, Rick Perez, D.J. Planer, Agnes Rizzo, Al Rosser, Doris Schwint, Walt Swales, Agatha Wyman and Helaine Zwibel. Art at the Mill focuses on modern trends in the visual arts. The gallery is currently open Friday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment. The gallery is located in the Lafayette Mill Antique Center in Lafayette, New Jersey, just off Route 15 at Morris Farm Road, on the second floor, above the café.
