Warwick, N.Y. - The Illustrious Theatre Company, in residence at the Warwick Valley Winery, will hold auditions for its outdoor summer production of Romeo and Juliet. The company seeks a minimum of 25 actors and actresses for this outdoor production, part of its “Shakespeare in the Orchard” series to be held at the winery the last three weekends in July. Rehearsals will begin the first week of June. Mary Clifford, director, and Carol Chave, choreographer, plan to incorporate a chorus of dancers into the play and are seeking male and female dancers in their early teens through early 20’s with some ballet or modern dance experience. They may also play roles within the play and ultimately act as the chorus who “narrate” the piece. Auditions will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15, and Tuesday, May 16, at The Kids Clubhouse, 628 County Rte. 1 in Pine Island, and will consist of readings from the script. Those interested in the dancing element will be asked to learn a brief combination. The company also seeks technical staff and an experienced technical director, a paid position. Those unable to make the scheduled audition times may call 973-764-4936 for an appointment. For information, call the above number or send e-mail to theitc@warwick.net.
