Byram - The Museum of Indian Culture, based in Allentown, Pa., brings its road show to Wild West City in Byram on Saturday, June 17, and Sunday, June 18. The museum focuses on the history and talents of several eastern tribes, including Delaware, Oneida and Blackfeet. The Lenape/Eastern Woodland Native Americans will be featured at Wild West City, including a variety of displays of food goods, musical instruments, artifacts, animal furs and European trade goods. Wesley Dunn, director of educational programs at the museum, will give lectures throughout the day and be available to answer questions. The special program is included in the all-day admission fee at Wild West City. Wild West City, originally conceived as a re-creation of Dodge City, features a broad main street lined by hitching rails, old wooden sidewalks and storefronts and assorted exhibits. A day at the park features stagecoach rides, shows and stunts as scenes from the old west, such as the “Shootout at the OK Corral” and horse riding exploits. An authentic one-room school house and a quaint chapel, which has served as the backdrop for weddings, are added attractions. Wild West City is located just off of Route 80, near Route 206, in Byram.
