Jefferson Community Players perform readings of two dramatic one-act plays

Oak Ridge Jefferson Community Players will perform dramatized readings of two one-act plays at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 14. The plays The plays will be “A Peace Replaced,” a drama written by Brian Maloney and “Movie of the Month,” a comedy written by Daniel Meltzer on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 and 14 at the Jefferson Senior Center, 54 Schoolhouse Road, Oak Ridge/Milton. Doors will open at 7:15 p.m. and curtain is at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 per adult and $5 per senior citizen or student with ID. Coffee and discussion of the plays will be offered following the performance. “A Peace Replaced” tells of a liver transplant recipient who feels compelled to meet the grieving Hispanic widow of his donor. The work features Jaime Crowley of Denville and Craig Moore of Oak Ridge. “Movie of the Month” features a television programming executive and his eager beaver assistant who rework the script of a very familiar play that will become a hit “Movie of the Month.” This piece features Lynda Kolvik and Basker Gummadi, residents of Jefferson Township.
