Jefferson MFAS to host Christmas in the Village pancake breakfast
Jefferson - This year, the Milton First Aid Squad will be hosting the kick-off event for the Jefferson Arts Committee’s Second Annual Christmas in the Village celebration with a pancake breakfast at its building located at 45 Milton Road in the Milton/Oak Ridge section of the township. They will host three seatings - 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m., and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. The menu will consist of delicious pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and tea; and while dining, guests will be serenaded by past and present Christmas music. Tickets are $8 for adults (12 years of age and older), $6 for youngsters ages 6 to 11, $3 for children 1-5 years old, and children under the age of one are free. Reservations are required for any of the three seatings by contacting any MFAS member or Cheryl Wood at 973-697-0468 as no tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets will also be sold at the Milton A&P and the Route 15 Pathmark shopping centers on upcoming dates. All money raised will benefit the Squad’s needed building and grounds fund for upkeep of the building. A Christmas tree will be placed in the corner of the Squad building during the breakfast, and attendees are encouraged to place an unwrapped gift for a child who many not have a happy holiday due to financial difficulties. All gifts will be given to Project Self-Sufficiency for distribution. The Squad will also be selling raffle tickets for the Jefferson Arts Committee, and winners will be drawn that night after the 7 p.m. Gazebo Tree Lighting in the Municipal Complex at approximately 7:30 p.m. Raffle prizes will include a Victorian pre-lit six-foot decorated Christmas Tree that will be in the Jefferson Township Museum during the day, a carved wood Santa Bear by artist Tim Booz, a Christmas “Polar Express” model train set and DVD, a gift basket courtesy of Gig the Florist, and a 50/50 raffle.
