Franklin Author and historian Bill Truran will be signing his latest book: “Mining for America: The Franklin-Sterling Hill, NJ Zinc Mines,” between 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26. The book represents the comprehensive story of one of the greatest zinc mining operations and the wonderful array of colorful minerals associated with the ore, which led to the Franklin area being proclaimed “The Fluorescent Mineral Capital of the World.” The author will be available during and after the train history show by Bob Mahowski, making for a doubly-insightful afternoon of local history.
