Local students' films to be shown at festival
WEST MILFORD Two films made by West Milford High School students will be shown at the Passaic County Student Film and Video Festival. Both films have been chosen for screening at the festival, which will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m. at the Passaic County Community College Public Safety Complex at 300 Oldham Road in Wayne. The films are: “Violets are blue” made by Sean Ryan, Andrew Steimel, Zachary, Weiss, Sean McClellan, and former student Mike Dygos and “The last good-bye” made by Tim Fulton, Melody Oostdyk, Ali Stewart and Kristen Noble. Last year, Nick Padovani, Dan Gould, Andrew Steimel and Leigh Ann Stern, students from West Milford, won first place with their film “Truth.” The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Passaic County Film Commission sponsors this juried exhibition to support young filmmakers by providing a forum to showcase their work. Students who live or attend school in Passaic County produced all the films. Films were judged by Film Commission members. High school students from Wayne Hills High School, Passaic County Technical Institute, Clifton High School, Passaic High School, Panther Academy and HARP Academy all submitted films. Films from college students from Passaic County Community College, William Paterson University and Boston University were also judged.
