Moscow Gypsy Army coming to SCCC

NEWTON — The Moscow Gypsy Army is bringing the Gypsy Roma Music Song and Dance Company to the Performing Arts Center at Sussex County Community College (SCCC). The troupe features a cultural array combining traditional Cossack, Russian, Ukrainian, and Gypsy sounds, sights, and dance. The group performs their instruments, ranging from vocals to the balalaika, all while adorning the colorful costumes of the cultures they represent. The Moscow Gypsy Army has been invited to perform for President George W. Bush and Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev. The performance will take place in the Performing Arts Center at SCCC on Tuesday, April 24, at 10:50 a.m. General admission is $9, but is free to SCCC Students with a valid ID.
