Rhinebeck, NY —The Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) has chosen Rhinebeck, New York as the site for their next National Meet. Home to the famous Rhinebeck Aerodrome, the Antiques Show, and the Dutchess County Fair, the town will host the weekend June 8 to 10. The meet is the highlight of the year for antique motorcycle enthusiasts and will showcase American bikes such as Harley-Davidsons, Indians, Popes, Hendersons, as well as foreign machines such as Triumphs, Nortons, BMWs and Victorias. The meet is being organized by a coalition headed by the Hudson Valley Chapter of the AMCA. The host in Rhinebeck will be The Century Museum Village and Collector’s Associating, Inc. Alongside the classic machines, specialized vendors will offer motorcycles and parts that are 35 years old and older. The event is expected to bring out not only motorcycle enthusiast, but also people who are interested in history and art. “These machines are examples of the greatest craftsmanship of the 20th century,” said admirer Daniel Rosen. “The Guggenhiem Museum had its famous exhibit in Manhattan a few years back, but in Rhinebeck you will see the blue smoke and hear the putt-putt of an engine built at the time of the Wright Brothers.” For more information on the meet, call Tim Cantelli at 518-828-2768.
