New restaurant on the mountain

Vernon — Tavern on the Mountain is the new restaurant at Hidden Valley Ski Club, and Tricia Patella, the restaurant's new marketing manager and event coordinator, wants to get the word out that the remodeled dining spot is not just for skiiers. There's a new menu and new chef — Bobby Geraghty of Westtown, N.Y.,formerly with the Inn at Hunts Landing, Matamoras, Pa., the Jolly Onion in Pine Island, N.Y., and Old School Pub in West Milford. The cuisine is American, Patella said. Steaks, fries and specials including wing nights and all-you-can eat prime rib nights. And the restaurant is open 365 days a year and serves from noon to 10 p.m. every day. The menu can be seen at tavernonthemountain.com. Patella was asked to get involved in promoting the restaurant because of her extensive background in publicity and her long history of television work. In her 20-year career, she has created, produced and publicized national TV shows, including Joan Rivers' shows and programs for Fox News and NBC. She's promoted nationally televised concerts, worked as a party planner and had her own public relations firm. Tavern on the Mountain will run the upstairs dining room, with its full service menu as well as the cafeteria for the Hidden valley Club, where hot and cold food, hot chocolate and more are available. Patella says her favorite part of being invovled in the restaurant and bar business is "that I get to meet so many great people who turn into lifelong friends and I also get to share in their milestones."
