Newton Chamber of Commerce to join St. Patrick's Day parade

Newton - The Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce will participate in the St. Patrick’s Day parade being run by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The parade will begin at noon on Saturday, March 11, in Newton and will follow the usual holiday parade route. Residents and chamber members are invited to march and/or help decorate the chamber float. Jim McCracken has donated the use of his flatbed truck, which will be decorated for the parade. The grand marshal’s dinner will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, to honor Ailish Hambel, mayor of Sparta, who is this year’s parade grand marshal. Tickets are $60 per person.
