Sussex County — The New Jersey Civic Youth Ballet will present "Three Little Ballets" at 3 p.m. on Sept. 17 and 18 at Centenary College in Hackettstown. The first ballet will be a time-line entitled "Dance Back to Yesterday," choreographed by Elisabeth Holowchuk and Christine Taylor. Created to help audiences enjoy dance as an art form, this new piece has unusual lighting and a voice that seems to come out of nowhere, narrated by Ashley Cicala. The ballet begins with Hip Hop, and quickly reverts to an earlier time of cave men and women. A tongue-in-cheek presentation, it will also involve participation of the audience. Two favorite ballet numbers will follow, "Peter and the Wolf" and "Carnival of the Animals." Nicole Rocco of Green Township will dance as the Duck in "Peter and the Wolf" and Jessica Smith of Franklin will be the Fish in "Carnival of the Animals." All three ballets are appropriate for children of all ages, and narrated for enjoyment. Ticket, at $6 per person, can be purchased by calling 908-850-0709 or by visiting njsda.org and clicking on "contact us."
