Newton n Roland Vega of Branchville went back to school after breaking his back skydiving. “He’s a really non-traditional student,” art professor Julie McWilliams commented of the art major whose photographs graced much of one wall at the fine arts major’s show at Sussex County Community College. Vega, a pilot by profession, was grounded by the sky diving accident that broke four vertebrae. “I had always been interested in photography, and now I was out of work and had time.” Many of his photos were local, but others depicted his native Ecuador, from a rodeo in his home town to streets scenes in Quito, the capital, to markers along the equator.
