One man show at Flying Pig's Front Hall Gallery

SUSSEX COUNTY-The work of artist/photographer Randall FitzGerald is on display at the Flying Pig Gallery in Sussex Borough. His works will be on view in The Front Hall Gallery through Jan. 30, 2005. FitzGerald, who is a biologist, behavioral ecologist and environmental educator with Montclair State University's School of Conservation in Branchville, has been doing art photography for more than 35 years. He lives in Layton with his wife, Anne, and two children, Dara and Casey. FitzGerald's love of the natural environment has permeated both his professional and photographic life, and consequently most of his images reflect the intimacy he enjoys with the natural world. Natural and rural landscapes comprise the bulk of his work, but he also captures images of people, architecture and wildlife, some with a strong abstract quality and balance. The artist works both in black and white and color with a variety of cameras from 35 mm to 4x5 medium formats, and has now incorporated the use of digital equipment. This current collection of photographs includes a variety of images from the artist's recent trip to Nova Scotia - Rustic fishing villages, towering lighthouses and rugged landscapes dominate his recording of the Canadian province. These images, as well as others that celebrate the serenity and splendor of the natural world are available in a variety of sizes up to 30 x 40 inches. All of the artist's images are reproduced to museum standards, using archival quality products. All the images are limited to 300 prints, after which the negative is destroyed.
