Piccirillo ties for first in history contest

VERNON-Senior Anthony Piccirillo of Vernon Township High School tied for first place in the nationwide Social Studies League Competition, getting 47 out of 50 questions correct. Piccirillo also had the highest score in the school in American history and was second in the school in the geography competition. This is the first year that Vernon has participated in the competitions. Piccirillo will be attending Georgetown University in the fall, majoring in political science.
