Players to perform “Junior Miss”

Jefferson The Jefferson Community Players will perform a dramatized play reading of “Junior Miss,” written by Jerome Chodorov and Joseph Fields, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25. Performances will be held at the Jefferson Senior Center, 54 Schoolhouse Road, Milton. Tickets are $10 per person and $5 for seniors and students with I.D. The cast members, under the direction of Jean Simonson, are: Vania Sousa, Samantha Crawford, Christine Dour, Jaime Crowley, Lou Cerny, Tania Kallish, Lynda Kolvik, Craig Moore, Thom Florio and Anthony Ardolino. “Junior Miss” was a popular 1940s Broadway play, based upon the characters created by Sally Benson. The work was also made into a motion picture that featured Peggy Ann Garner as “Judy Graves,” the junior miss of the play.
