Resident graduates with degree in marketing

SPARTA-Roman Dalichow, of Sparta, received a bachelor of science with a business degree in marketing management from the Pamplin College of Business. The Virginia Tech student was among those honored at the university's spring commencement ceremony held on May 13 in Lane Stadium. Approximately 5,200 bachelor, master, and doctoral candidates, along with their families and friends, attended the on-campus ceremony presided by Virginia Tech president Charles W. Steger. David L. Calhoun, president and CEO of General Electric Transportation and a Virginia Tech alumnus, delivered the commencement address. Founded in 1872 as a land-grant college, Virginai Tech, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, has grown to become the largest university in the state. Today, its eight colleges are dedicated to putting knowledge to work through teaching, research, and outreach activities and to fulfilling its vision to be among the top research universities in the nation. At its 2,600-acre main campus located in Blacksburg, and other campus centers, it enrolls more than 28,000 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries in 180 academic degree programs.
