SUSSEX COUNTY-The 2004 Bowl For Kids' Sake to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sussex County was recently held at Sparta Lanes, surpassing previous years in both the number of bowlers attending and the amount of money raised. The event hosted bowling teams organized from Sussex County realty offices and from county branches of Lakeland Bank and Newton Trust Company. Each team member was responsible for acquiring pledges from the public to support the programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Ray Cordts, of Lakeland Bank, and his teammates raised the most money, followed closely by Cathy Kut's team from Weichert Realtors, and Linda Ridner and Gayle Losey's team from Lakeland Bank Stillwater Branch. "Everyone who participated had a wonderful experience and great fun bowling. The best part was knowing that the proceeds were going to programs that are dedicated to our community's children and to helping prevent the problems many of them face. Thanks to the bowlers, people who pledged and the event sponsors, it was a very successful day," said Kut, chairperson of the event. Lakeland Bank served as the event sponsor and organized several bowling teams for the event.
