Rotary to hold golf fundraiser
West Milford The West Milford Rotary Club holds two fundraising events a year. The first was the beefsteak dinner held on March 3, which was a success. The second is the annual golf outing, which this year will be held on Wednesday, May 23. The outing will take place at Black Bear Golf Club on Route 23 North, in Franklin. The outing begins with a continental breakfast starting at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. “shot-gun” start. For readers who may not be familiar with the term, this means that golfers start on various holes to allow for simultaneous play, thereby minimizing the waits for golfers to finish their game. A 2 p.m. buffet lunch will be served, followed by prizes, gifts, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and awards. The entry fee per golfer is $135, which includes the golf cart. A business owner can also become a hole sponsor, for only $100, which buys a sign with the business’s name for all to see. Business owners can also make a donation of a door prize, for $50, for which the business will be recognized. Money raised from the golf outing is used to fund Rotary projects, many of which remain within the community.
